…& now for sports!
The Sleepy Hollow boy’s varsity soccer team lost its game Thursday, October 17th, against Dobbs Ferry High School. The final score was 5-2. Dobbs scored two goals early on in the first half. Sleepy had some scoring chances of their own but could not convert. Sleepy Hollow then had one of its players red carded and played with ten men for the last 60 minutes of the game. Sleepy continued to play hard but Dobbs eventually broke them down and scored a third goal. Sleepy Hollow came out stronger in the second half but the extra player for Dobbs caused another breakdown and resulted in a fourth goal. Sleepy then changed up its lineup a little bit and scored the next two goals. The first goal was scored by senior fullback, and co-captain, Luke Colley with a penalty kick as Colley was taken down inside the 18. The second goal was scored by junior fullback, and co-captain, Daniel Yawman. Later on Dobbs scored a fifth goal to put the game away. Sleepy’s current record is 7-7-1. Hollow’s next game is an away game against Solomon Schetcher on Monday, October 21st. Go Hollow!!
