Attention Seniors:
Superlative nominations are now open. You can access the survey on The Legend website located on the side bar of the high school homepage. Nominations will end today (9/19).
The Engineering Club will meet at 3:15 on Monday, September 22nd in Room 201C.
Senior packet information is due Wednesday, September 24th. You can do this either via the website, Ms. Dreher's Mailbox or by emailing [email protected]. Stop by the Main Office if you have any questions.
Seniors that did not sit for a portrait must do so on October 3rd. You have to call Lors Studio Directly and set up your appointment. Any senior wanting a RETAKE must also schedule an appointment and bring a $10 re-sit fee.
Anyone interested in trying out for JV or Varsity basketball must attend a brief meeting Monday, 9/22 in room 401E at 3:05.
Students who received an invitation to apply to the National Honor Society are reminded to return their completed application and leadership statement to Mrs. Rosenwasser in 319W or to her mailbox by Monday, Sept. 22nd. Late applications are not acceptable.
Are you interested in playing in the award winning Sleepy Hollow Jazz Band? Jazz Placement auditions will be held Tuesday 9/23 for all High School Students. Visit Mr. Sprague in the band room to sign-up for a time and get the audition music.
Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse, otherwise known as VAASA will have its first meeting of the school year on Monday, 9/22 at 3:05 PM in room 401 East. All varsity athletes interested in participating in this club should attend. For additional information, see Ms. Kutch in 401E or Ms. Roberto in 3201W
And now for Sports…
The Boys Varsity soccer team lost its game against New York State ranked Edgemont High School on Thursday, September 18th. The final score was 3-0. It was a good performance by the Sleepy Hollow players. In the first half Sleepy dominated the first 30 minutes of play and had some scoring opportunities but could not capitalize on them. Against the flow of play Edgemont scored a goal to take the lead. In the second half Edgemont scored another in the 55th minute. Sleepy continued to play hard and had a chance to get back into the game when they earned a penalty kick but could not execute it. Minutes later Edgemont scored a third goal. Senior goalkeeper Deleg had another excellent game and had 10 saves. Some other standout players for Sleepy were senior captain Dann Quezada and junior midfielder Diego Arias. Sleepy’s current record stands at 1-3-3. The next game for the boys is an away game against Ardsley High School on Saturday, September 20th. Go Hollow!!
