….And Now For Sports…
The Boys Varsity soccer team drew its game against last year’s state finalist Hastings High School on Saturday, September 17th. The final score was 0-0. It was a very intense and physical game and was an excellent performance by the Sleepy Hollow players. Senior keeper, and co-captain, Andrew Laub made an amazing save to keep Hollow in the game. The second half was played well by both teams with each team getting its share of scoring opportunities but neither team could capitalize on them and the game went to sudden death overtime. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Laub had an amazing game in goal with 10 saves and produced his 4th shutout in 6 games. In addition to Andrew the entire back line for Hollow defense played well. They were lead by Senior Captain Ethan Wilens who had another excellent game. Junior Hugo Carpio was the man of the match as he saved two surefire goals on the goal line to keep Sleepy in the game. The next game for the boys is a league home game against Our Lady of Lourdes High School on Tuesday, September 20th. Go Hollow!!
