The spirit and pride of Sleepy Hollow was alive and well. Everything that you wanted in an athletic event was there. The Friday night bonfire got the community ready for an enjoyable Saturday, and it certainly was pleasant. From the NFL Huddle experience, where all our fans were able to see many of the highlights of the NFL, to the wonderful senior ceremony, where we honored 22 Senior cheerleaders, football players and their parents, to recognizing the alumni class of 1973 and 1983, it was certainly a special touch to our pre-game and half-time activities. The game was exciting and was played with a tremendous amount of sportsmanship on the field and when the final buzzer went off and a Horsemen victory was proclaimed both sides engaged in a wonderful sportsmanlike manner congratulating each of them on a great performance.
The Athletic Department would like to thank our entire school community for making this homecoming one of the most memorable experiences here at Sleepy Hollow. Spirit week was outstanding. The cheerleaders were wonderful to watch perform. The pep band always adds to the enjoyment of our games. Our student body, spectators and the entire adult community gave wonderful support and showed a tremendous amount of spirit throughout the whole day. We would be remiss not to thank the Sleepy Hollow policy department, Sleepy Hollow ambulance corps, the Sleepy Hollow fire department and especially Rui Rocha, our head custodian and Angelo Conte, our grounds custodian and their staff for the tremendous job they did helping us to make sure everything was perfect for the bonfire, the NFL Huddle and of course all the activities at the game. And last, but not least, thank you to our athletes and our coaches for providing us with a big win!
The football playoffs start this Friday, October 25th at Tappan Zee High School at 6pm. Come and enjoy another big win for the Horsemen!
