And Now For Sports…
The Playoff football game home this Saturday (10/25) vs. John Jay Cross River at 1pm.
The Boys Varsity soccer team won its game in the first round of the sectional playoffs against Beacons High School on Thursday, October 22nd with a score of 2-1. It was a good performance by the Sleepy Hollow players. The score at the end of the first half was 1-0. Senior Noah Gould scored the first goal with a hard shot on goal. Sleepy had many other scoring chances in the first half but couldn’t put them away. Sleepy continued to play well in the second half and were awarded a penalty kick late in the half. It was taken and executed by junior Toby Humm. In the closing minutes of the game Sleepy let down it’s guard and allowed Beacon to score. Senior keeper Jose Deleg had another good game in net and finished with 3 saves. Some standout players for Sleepy were Gould, Humm, senior captain Daniel Yawman, junior Vito Arpi, and seniors Blas Ortiz and Brendan Murphy. The boys will be facing Hedrik Hudson High School in the second round of sectional play on Friday, October 24th. Go Sleepy Hollow!!
