Congratulations to the boys track team. Thursday night they competed in the Dendy Invitational. David Friedman got things started in the right direction by placing 2nd overall is the 200m dash. He ran a personal best 24.5 seconds. That was quickly followed up by Jack Weitner. He also placed 2nd overall in the pole vault. He vaulted a personal best 9 feet, 6 inches. But the story of the night was the High Jump crew. The horsemen went 1-2-3 in the high jumps sweeping the event. Jakob Smith took the gold, Jeantil Beltre got the silver and Manny Davila grabbed the bronze. It was a great night for the track team. Come see them in action next Friday, January 13th at Rockland Community College.
The girls' track team displayed outstanding performances at Thursday’s track meet held at RCC. The distance team, Asana Love, Amelia Gross, Virginia Ruhland-Mauhs and Joceline Maita held strong during their 1500 meter race and were competitive from start to finish. Emma Sylves- Berry and Lindsey Boozer ran an aggressive and difficult 600 meters. They finished strong in their competitive heats. The SH sprinters, Avery Schumacher, Jordan Liz, Sofia Hantzaridis, Sam Hynes, Pam Lara and Molly Greenholz excelled while sprinting the 200 meters and achieved some personal records! Great performances by all the Lady Horsemen!
