Attention ALL Varsity Team Captains there’s a meeting tomorrow (5/12) in the high school gym to vote on two major awards to be given out at the Varsity Awards Banquet - Rookie of the Year and Unsung Hero. The meeting will be very quick and no one will be late for their practice or game.
Great job to the girls' track team on their outstanding performance at yesterday's league meet, held in Bronxville. The girls' 3200 meter relay, Asana Love, Emma Sylves-Berry, Jackie Maldonado, and Virginia Ruhland-Mauhs, received all -league honorable mention. Chelsea Hiciano placed 3rd in the 100 high hurdles, Cassidy Higgins placed 3rd in the 400 hurdles, and Avery Schumacher placed 3rd in the 400 meter run. The 400 meter relay team, Cassidy Higgins, Chelsea Hiciano, Emily Rodriguez, and Sam Dorn placed third, along with the 1600 meter relay team, Grace Luft-Morgan, Avery Schumacher, Sam Dorn and Emma Sylves-Berry. Great job to ALL Lady Horsemen!!
For the first time since 2000, the boys track team won the league championships! The Horsemen placed 1st in League 3B edging out Bronxville 180-172. Roger Bucci and Wendall Brand were quadruple winners, placing first in 4 events. Nolan Samford was a double winner, placing 1st in the 400 and mile relay. Aaron Cember won the discus on his last throw and achieved a personal best at 119 feet. He also placed 2nd in the shot put. It was a great day overall by everyone. Our next meet is the Rasbeck Relays at Irvington HS on Saturday, May 14th.
Last but not least…
Yesterday (5/10) was the varsity softball team's senior game...and our girls did not disappoint! They crushed Yonkers with a score of 15-0. It was an all around great team effort and we would like to again congratulate our seniors - Whitneyfer Alejo, Gaby Chebtar & Vanessa Onwe.
