& Now a summary of yesterdays (10/14) Swim Game…
The SH girls varsity swim team won their meet against Briarcliff yesterday. After a rocky start, the girls were down 10 points at the middle of the meet. But the second half, the girls kicked it into gear. Stand out swims were Sofia Guarneri making the sectional cut in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:06. Demi McClung anchored the first place 400 meter freestyle relay winning the meet for the girls. Hannah Miller, Elizabeth Silver, Andrea Torres, and Samantha Silver also had great races. Congratulations to the swim meet and good luck at their senior meet this Thursday!
& now a brief summary of yesterday’s Boys Varsity Soccer game…
The team won its home game against Ardsley High School on Tuesday, October 13th. The final score was 3-0. Great performances by Junior Captain Diego Arias, junior midfielder Ethan Willens, freshman striker Max Cover, Christian, Senior goalkeeper Liam O’Sullivan, senior fullbacks and captains Sebastien Kent and Toby Humm, Senior fullback Vito Arpi, and junior fullback Harry Bogusz. Midfielders Johnny Diaz (captain), Artega, and Willens controlled the game for Sleepy and represented the school extremely well. The next game for the boys is an away game against league rival Keio Academy on Thursday, October15th. Hollow’s current record is 8-3-2. Go Hollow!!
The first round of football playoffs happens this weekend. Sleepy Hollow plays on Saturday at John Jay Cross River at a place and time to be announced. We will try to get a fan bus. If interested please sign up with Hannah McCarthy. We must have 25 kids by Friday at 12 noon. More information to follow.
