It is that time of year again! The SHHS club fair will be held on October 21(next Tuesday) in Lower East Hall, outside the high school cafeteria. Tables, club signs, and signup sheets will be available.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: the Fall SAT Evening Course will meet Tuesday, October 21, Monday, October 27 and Thursday October 30. The Warner Library in Tarrytown (directly across from C-Town) is having their book sale on this Saturday and Sunday, October 18th and 19th. This is an opportunity to get community service hours…please sign up in the Main Office if you’re interested.
It's fall and time for the annual ESL Club hike and picnic. This Saturday, October 18, we will meet by the gym in the high school parking lot to walk on the aqueduct and enjoy the fall colors. Afterwards, we will picnic together at Douglaston Park. Please join us from 10:00 AM to noon. It's free, and all students in the middle school and high school are welcome. Track club is starting next week. Get in shape for the upcoming winter season. You do not have to be on track to participate. All high school students are welcome. See Mr. Gersfeld for details and times. (Read till 10/24)
And Now For Sports…
The Boys Varsity soccer team lost its game against John Jay-Cross River High School on Thursday, October September 16th. The final score was 1-0. It was a very well played game by both teams. The entire game was a defensive battle in which both teams had some scoring opportunities. John Jay scored in the second half off a set piece and held on for the win. Sleepy had its chances throughout the second half but could not capitalize. Senior goalkeeper Jose Deleg had an excellent game and had 7 saves. Some standout players for Sleepy were senior Blas Ortiz, junior Toby Humm, and senior captain Guillermo Maxi. Sleepy’s current record stands at 4-8-3. Sleepy must win its final game of the year to qualify for sectional play. The last game of the regular season for the boys is a home game against Woodlands School on Monday, October 20th. Go Hollow!!
