And Now For Sports…
The players on the JV and Varsity volleyball teams faced off against some of their favorite teachers last Thursday (10/30). In game 1, the teachers defeated the JV squad 25 to 19. The win was punctuated with an authoritative spike from Mr. Gersfeld which was set up at the hands of Ms. Peltier. Ms. Berry and Coach Rachel controlled the pace of the game with their deft passing. The Varsity stepped up next, but similarly, faced defeat. The teachers were led by the hard serves of Senor Collado and the hustle of Mr. Spirelli and Mr. Starace. In the third game, Mr. Berger and Mr. Cincotta hit their stride and helped to notch another win for the teachers. Finally, in game four, the collaborative efforts of the JV and Varsity players secured the win for the students - or the teachers are old and got tired. Regardless, everyone had a great time!
Thank you to everyone who participated and a special thanks to Ms. Horn, Mr. Baxter, Mr. Bruno, Ms.Lopez, and Ms. McGough for supporting their colleagues and their students. It was a great opportunity for teachers and students to play together (with some mild trash talking) and enjoy each others company. Thank you everyone!
