Attention all High School students: If you are planning to interview for an intern position in SHADE, aka Sleepy Hollow Academy for Disability Education, interviews will be held Tuesday, October 18th and Tuesday, October 25th at 3:15 in room 303 North. You need only come one of these days to inerview. Interviews are done on a first come - first served basis. Returning interns need to come and interview as well. You must enter the Sleepy Hollow HIGH SCHOOL page on the district website and on the left hand side of the page, under What's Happening Now, you will see the link.
Superlative Voting will run from OCTOBER 18th to OCTOBER 21st.

Underclass photos are scheduled for Oct. 20th and 21st from 8:30 - 3pm. You will be scheduled during your social studies classes. POrtrait order forms are available in the main office and will also be distributed in your social studies classes.

There will be an away varsity football game on Saturday, October 15th at Eastchester at 2pm. If you are interested in a spectator’s bus, please see Makayla or Coach Scarpulla by Thursday (10/13) afternoon. The price will be $3 which includes admission. This bus will be leaving at 12:15 on Saturday. The jv football team will have a home game vs. Eastchester on Saturday at 9:30am.

The Boys Varsity soccer team lost its game against league rival Our Lady of Lourdes High School on Thursday, October 6th. The final score was 2-0. The first half was played well by both teams with Sleepy having the more dangerous scoring chances. In the second half Sleepy played poorly in the midfield. This led to Lourdes scoring two goals. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Laub had a good game in goal with 8 saves and could not be blamed or held responsible for any of the goals. Some players who stood out for Hollow were fullbacks Ethan Wilens, David Friedman, Michael Illescas, and Diego Arias. The next game for the boys is an away game against league rival Peekskill High School on Saturday, October 8th. The boy’s current record is 4-4-3. Go Hollow!!
On Thursday October 6th, the Girls Varsity Team hosted Portchester. The horsemen ladies struggled to find the net, even though they moved the ball around the field really well. Seniors Juliette Phillips and Hannah Derechin played outstanding in the back, limiting their opponents to three shots on goal all game. Maggie Cusanelli and Raisa Alejandro had strong defensive games for the horsemen ladies and really controlled the play. Our girls managed 16 chances at goal during regulation. It seemed like a goal wasn't in the cards for us and the game ended 0-0, after a goal for the horsemen girls was called back in the first overtime period. The girls play at home next Thursday at WI at 430. Come support us as we look to improve our league record to 4-1-1.
The Boys Varsity Soccer team lost its game against Brewster High School on Monday, October 10th. The final score was 3-1. The first half was played well by both teams with Sleepy having some dangerous scoring chances but not being able to finish them off. Unfortunately Brewster scored two goals to lead at halftime. In the second half Sleepy played much better and were able to get one back. It was scored by sophomore Christian Sarris. Brewster was able to put in another one to finish off the game. Senior goalkeeper Dylan Besascu had a decent game in goal with 5 saves. Some players who stood out for Hollow were fullbacks Ethan Wilens, David Friedman, Michael Illescas, and Alexis Zhunio. In addition midfielders Anthony Auguirre and Max Cover also had very good games. The next game for the boys is a home game against local rival Irvington High School on Thursday, October 13th. The boy’s current record is 5-5-3. Go Hollow!!
The Boys Varsity soccer team won its game against league rival Peekskill High School on Saturday, October 8th. The final score was 3-0. It was a great performance by the Sleepy Hollow players. They were able to shutout the highest scoring team in Section 1.Sleepy dominated play and controlled the pace throughout the game. Hollow’s first goal was scored early in the first half by senior striker Manuel Crespo. He was assisted by senior Diego Arias. Later on in the half junior Hugo Carpio scored with an excellent assist from Isaiah Isaacson. The next goal was scored in the second half by Carpio and this time assisted by Crespo to seal the win. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Laub had a great game in goal with 6 saves. Man of the match is split between senior midfielder Anthony Auguirre and senior fullback and captain Ethan Wilens. They were able to shut down every dangerous situation presented the field. Some other standout players for Sleepy were senior fullbacks Michael Illescas, David Friedman, and Alexis Zhunio. The next game for the boys is a home game on Monday, October 10th against Brewster High School. The boy’s current record is 5-4-3. Go Hollow!!
