…& now for sports!
The Boys Varsity soccer team won its game against Ardsley High School on Tuesday, October 15th with a score of 3-0. It was a great performance by the Sleepy Hollow players as they played well and dominated the possession aspect of the game. The score at the end of the first half was 2-0. Senior striker Demetri Boumis set the tone of the game early on as he scored on a great pass from junior striker Danny Elia. The second goal was also scored by Boumis as he was fouled inside the Ardsley 18 and scored the ensuing penalty kick. Sleepy had many opportunities afterwards but could not convert. The second half was again completely dominated by Sleepy Hollow. Junior midfielder Guillermo Maxi scored the third goal as he drilled a shot from outside the 18. Senior goalkeeper Jack Corcoran had 4 saves and recorded his 4th shutout of the season. Some standout players for Sleepy were Boumis, Maxi, Elia, and senior fullback, and co-captain, Luke Colley. The record of the team currently stands at 7-6-1. The next game for the boys is an away game against Dobbs Ferry High School on Thursday, October 17th. Go Hollow!!
