So you’ve all heard of this little thing called the “Ice Bucket Challenge”… and another little thing called SHHS Spirit Week?...Well… we are combining them all for a good cause.
This Friday, September 12th, we will have our own ice bucket challenge and it counts towards spirit week points! The class with the most participants will go into spirit week with 100 points, 2nd place with 75 and so on.
All you need is $2, your own bucket and good old fashion bravery (and maybe a towel?) – we will provide the nice cold water.
We will be doing this on the softball field at 3:15 sharp – this Friday, September 12th. Oh and we are calling out 3 other schools – Ossining, Irvington and Sleepy Hollow Middle School.
And now for sports…
On Tuesday, September 9th, Sleepy Hollow's Varsity Field Hockey team played at Edgemont high school. The first half was very exciting, but the Lady Horseman finished the half scoreless. However, ten minutes into the second half, Sleepy Hollow's Senior forward Gissel Tejada scored off an assist from Gabby DelMonaco. Five minutes later, during a penalty corner play, Freshman forward Gabby DelMonaco found the back of the net off an assist from Senior Captain Sarah McCarthy. Gabby DelMonaco scored another goal, assisted by Heather Colley with 8 minutes to spare, giving Sleepy Hollow the lead 3-0. Sleepy Hollow's goalie Marissa Fortugno had a shut out with 14 saves. Varsity Field Hockey faces Hastings away at 4:45 on Thursday, September 11th.
