The book club will be meeting in 410E today (1/19). You may come early if you want to grab your next book!
Upward Bound Seniors we will be taking a yearbook picture this Thursday (1/21) right after school.
There will be a Hoofprints meeting for editors in Room 305 West at 3PM. Please see Mr. Rogers or Ms. Langston for details. The next meeting for all Hoofprints staff will take place on Tuesday, February 2. Anyone interested in contributing or joining Hoofprints should attend.
Attention seniors: Please submit Junior Dinner photos from last year to [email protected]. Please also submit any photos of you and your friends from kindergarten to sophomore year for the way we were section.
Honor society student government and club photos will be Thursday, February 4th in the auditorium @ 3pm.
Now for Sports!...
Congratulations to the boys track team. On Friday , January 15th, they competed at the Suffern Invitational. Pape Loum, Fili Veras and German Jimenez led the way in the short sprints with some very impressive times. Jakob Smith and Connor Quinn did quite well in the 300. The 4x400m team of; Nolan Samford, Mark Jelenek, David Friedman and Jon Gomez had a great race placing 3rd. They missed the school record by 3/10 of a second. On Sunday, they got their revenge. They placed 1st at the League Championships and crushed the school record by over 5 seconds! They also received All-League Honors for their efforts. The boys 4x200 relay team placed 2nd, in a season best time, and received All-League Honorable Mention. The team consisted of; Fili Veras, Diego Rodriguez, German Jimenez and Pape Loum. Fili Veras placed 3rd in the 55m in 6.96 seconds. Nolan Samford and German Jimenez placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 300m in their personal best times. Roger Bucci placed 3rd in the 1000m, while Mark Jelenek placed 2nd in the 600m. It was an outstanding weekend for the track team filled with personal best achievements and a school record. Our next meet is January 30th at the 168 St. Armory.
